Located in Yucaipa, California, Crafton Hills College was designed by the architect Stewart Williams, FAIA, and built during the 1970s. Over the years, there has been little new construction on the campus, despite the growing population in the area. In November 2002, the voters of San Bernardino County approved Measure P, which provides $190 million of bond funds to improve the facilities at San Bernardino Community College District’s two colleges, San Bernardino Valley College and Crafton Hills College.

In the fall of 2004, Crafton Hills College hired Steinberg Architects to design and implement a master plan for the college. With the expectation to more than double in student enrollment and increase by 75% in physical size by the year 2025, the master plan will outline the first major additions and improvements to the campus since the college opened its doors in 1972.
