 
On Friday, August 12, 2005, Steinberg Architects and Ah’be Landscape Architects gave the final “all campus” Master Plan presentation. The Master Plan team continued to work and meet throughout the summer including Master Plan Committee workshops both at Crafton Hills College and Steinberg Architect’s Los Angeles office. The presentation was an overview of the 2025 Master Plan including the architectural expression, planning concepts, plan development, landscape plan, guidelines and the 2012 implementation plan. On Thursday, May 19, 2005, Steinberg Architects gave the second “all campus” update on the Master Plan. The presentation began with a brief description of the findings of the completed campus assessments. It continued with a Master Plan overview that reviewed “clusters” as the master planning concept for CHC and showed a detailed site analysis of the campus. The presentation concluded with phasing diagrams for the 2012/2018/2025 years and a detailed analysis of the implementation of the 2012 plan. The consultant team has completed their assessments of the campus and has prepared a report that documents their analysis of the existing conditions and provided recommendations to address problems where necessary.
 
On Friday, March 25, 2005, Steinberg Architects held the first of three “all campus” meetings to update Crafton Hills College and the community on the Master Plan. The presentation reviewed the goals for the Master Plan, growth projections and general campus observations. The concept of “clusters” as a master planning approach for CHC was introduced. Through a series of workshops, the Master Plan Committee, the Instructional and Student Services Councils and Steinberg Architects have created goals for the master plan. These goals, in addition to the college’s mission statement, will serve as guiding principals as the master plan progresses and takes a physical form. Steinberg Architects has completed a space utilization study that confirms the assignable square footage on campus and identifies how each space is used and by which department.
 
Steinberg Architects and the consultant team are in the process of performing an assessment study for all of the existing buildings, site and infrastructure on campus. The purpose of the study is to document the current conditions, understand if there are life safety issues that need to be addressed and make recommendations to bring the campus up to current standards.
 
The Educational & Facilities Master Plan, October 2000, has been recently updated by the Maas Companies. The revised information provides an accurate instructional and support service data base and growth projections for the years 2010 and 2025. |
